The On-Page SEO Specialist will be responsible for implementing and optimizing on-page content across client websites to improve search engine visibility and user engagement for plumbing and HVAC local businesses. This role primarily involves mapping out newly onboarded clients’ SEO game plan, such as service area research, keyword research and targeting, website structure, existing website performance, and so on. This role will also include opportunities to assess client’s performance after onboarding, provide recommendations, and execute on any needed SEO optimization.

Key Responsibilities
• Conduct research on the client’s service area to determine which cities should be targeted on a client’s new website. Including keyword search volume, population, household income, etc.
• Conduct existing website performance audits to identify what is currently working well and not working well on the client’s website, in order to determine what content or pages should be transferred.
• Conduct keyword research based on the client’s desired services to determine what service pages and keywords should be targeted on their new website. Including primary, secondary, and semantic keywords to target.
• Map out the client’s website and navigation to establish a clear page hierarchy, a consistent URL structure, and a user-friendly experience.
• Create SEO and user-optimized meta titles, descriptions, and H1s.
• QA copywriter’s content for SEO keyword targeting best practices, internal linking, content quality, etc.
• QA client’s staging website and published website to ensure all SEO facets are in order from the onboarding process.
• Collaborate with GBP Specialist, Technical SEO Specialist, and SEO Director.

Qualifications and Skills
• 3+ years of experience in an SEO-specific role such as an SEO specialist, manager etc.
• 1+ years of experience working with local businesses, preferably service-based businesses.
• Fluent in English, with expertise in content writing best practices.
• In-depth knowledge of on-page SEO best practices, including keyword placement, content formatting, and internal linking.
• Proficiency with content management systems (e.g., WordPress).
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow structured guidelines and implement strategic plans.
• Basic understanding of SEO analytics and content performance metrics.
