Job Description
A TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) Welder in a sheet metal manufacturing environment in Pretoria West is primarily responsible for performing high-precision welds on materials like aluminium, stainless steel, and mild steel. This role is critical for producing clean, strong welds on components such as tanks, machinery parts, and specialized metal structures.

Key Responsibilities
• Precision Welding: Execute high-quality TIG (GTAW) welds on plate, pipe, and thin-gauge sheet metal according to specific standards (e.g., ISO or AWS symbols).
• Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to determine project requirements.
• Material Preparation: Clean, bevel, fit-up, and tack weld parts before final assembly to ensure accuracy.
• Quality Control: Conduct visual inspections of finished welds to detect defects like warping, cracks, or porosity.
• Equipment Maintenance: Set up, operate, and perform basic troubleshooting on welding machines and tools (grinders, cutters, etc.).
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) protocols, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
