Job Description
The lodge is situated along the North Coast of KwaZulu-Natal. This role is responsible for supporting the upkeep and reliability of electrical systems and assisting with the general maintenance of lodge infrastructure, guest accommodation, workshops, and operational facilities. While the primary focus of the position is electrical maintenance, the successful candidate will also assist with broader property maintenance tasks under the guidance of the Maintenance Supervisors.

Candidate Responsibilities:
β€’ Diagnose and repair electrical faults across lodge buildings and infrastructure
β€’ Install, maintain, and repair single-phase and three-phase electrical systems
β€’ Maintain electrical distribution boards, wiring systems, lighting circuits, and power outlets
β€’ Assist with installation and maintenance of air-conditioning (HVAC) systems
β€’ Install, service, and repair electric geysers and hot water systems
β€’ Conduct electrical fault finding and system troubleshooting
β€’ Assist with maintenance of water pumps and electrically driven systems
β€’ Support preventative maintenance programs for lodge electrical infrastructure
β€’ Assist the maintenance team with general maintenance work including plumbing repairs, equipment upkeep, and facility maintenance
β€’ Carry out general handyman duties such as minor building repairs and installations when required
β€’ Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety standards and operational requirements
β€’ Maintain and care for tools and maintenance equipment
Core Criteria:
β€’ Electrical qualification or trade certification (N2/N3, Electrical Trade Certificate, or similar)
β€’ Practical experience working with single-phase and three-phase electrical systems
β€’ Experience with air-conditioning installations and HVAC electrical components
β€’ Experience installing and maintaining electric geysers
β€’ Ability to conduct electrical fault finding and system diagnostics
β€’ Basic knowledge of electrical safety standards and procedures
β€’ Valid driver’s license
β€’ Physically capable of working in a hands-on maintenance environment
