VACANCY: MESSENGER DRIVER FOR A LAW FIRM

Available positions: Two
Location: Fourways, Johannesburg and Valhalla, Pretoria
Salary: ZAR 10 000.00 per month

A well-established law firm, based in Johannesburg and Pretoria, is seeking to employ two experienced Messenger Drivers to join its team. One driver to service the JHB region and the other to service the PTA region.

Key Responsibilities:
Daily delivery and collection of legal documents to and from various courts, other law firms, the Sheriff of the Court and various legal and professional stakeholders.
Safe transportation and handling of confidential legal documentation.
Ensuring strict timekeeping, punctuality, and adherence to deadlines.
Maintaining a high level of professionalism and discretion at all times.
Accurate record-keeping of deliveries and collections.
Capture delivery notes, return of service and courier services.
Perform basic data entry and reconciliation on MS Word and MS Excel.
Opening of physical files.
Managing and safeguarding all files in the filing room(s).
Follow up on outstanding documentation and queries.

Minimum Requirements:
Grade 12
Valid Code B/Code 8 driver’s license.
Previous experience as a messenger driver for a law firm is essential.
Fluent in English (and speaking Vernacular is advantageous).
Proven understanding of court procedures and legal document handling.
Excellent time management and reliability.
Trustworthy, well-presented, and professional.
Good knowledge of Johannesburg, Pretoria and surrounding areas within Gauteng.
In JHB: Preferably residing in Cosmo City or Diepsloot (due to proximity to the office).
In PTA: Preferably residing in Atteridgeville (due to proximity to the office).

Additional Skills:
Skilled driver who strictly adheres to the traffic laws in South Africa.
Administratively strong and detail orientated.
Comfortable working with numbers and figures.
Customer Service Orientated.
Basic computer literacy (Word, Outlook, Excel).
Comfortable with capturing data on a computer.

Additional Considerations:
This position is best suited to a mature and responsible individual with a solid work history.
The role requires someone who understands the importance of confidentiality and precision in a legal environment.
