Job Description
We have immediate openings for General Construction Labourers to work on various building and civil engineering projects. As a labourer, you will support skilled tradespeople by performing a range of physical tasks on the construction site. This includes mixing concrete, carrying materials, operating basic hand tools, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Construction is demanding work, but it offers excellent earning potential, practical skills development, and a clear path to becoming a qualified tradesperson. We comply with all occupational health and safety regulations and provide personal protective equipment. Experience is preferred but not essential — we value a strong work ethic, physical fitness, and a willingness to learn above all else.
Responsibilities
• Mix cement, concrete, and mortar according to specified ratios using mixers or by hand
• Carry and distribute building materials including bricks, sand, gravel, timber, and steel to work areas
• Dig trenches, foundations, and drainage channels using picks, shovels, and basic excavation tools
• Assist bricklayers, carpenters, plumbers, and electricians with their tasks as directed
• Erect and dismantle scaffolding, temporary fencing, and site signage under supervision
• Operate basic construction equipment including wheelbarrows, compactors, and concrete vibrators
• Maintain a clean and organised work site by removing debris, waste, and hazardous materials
• Load and offload delivery vehicles with construction supplies and equipment
• Follow all site safety rules including wearing hard hats, safety boots, high-visibility vests, and gloves
• Attend daily toolbox talks and safety briefings as required by the site foreman

Requirements
• Physical fitness and stamina to perform hard manual labour for 8-10 hours per day
• Previous construction site experience is an advantage but not required
• Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions
• Basic understanding of construction tools, materials, and processes
• Willingness to learn new skills and take direction from supervisors and tradespeople
• Reliable attendance and punctuality — construction projects run on tight schedules
• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• No fear of physical work including heavy lifting (up to 30kg regularly)

Qualifications
No formal qualifications required. Basic health and safety awareness training is advantageous.
