We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our team and support the reliability and performance of our automated manufacturing systems. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced automation, robotics, and industrial technologies within a dynamic automotive manufacturing environment.
• *Maintenance & Technical Support
• Perform reactive, preventative, and planned maintenance on electrical and automation equipment.
• Diagnose equipment breakdowns and conduct fault finding and root cause analysis to minimize downtime.
• Maintain and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, VSD, servo systems, sensors, motors, and automation equipment.
• Support and maintain robotic systems used within the manufacturing process.
• Ensure all maintenance activities and job cards are accurately documented and closed.
• Maintain machine process capability to meet production and quality requirements.
• *Equipment Installation & Improvement
• Participate in installation, commissioning, and modification of new production equipment and automation systems.
• Assist with electrical upgrades, system modifications, and equipment improvements.
• Review electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation to support maintenance and system improvements.
• *Continuous Improvement & Reliability
• Analyse breakdown data and support initiatives to improve equipment reliability, MTBF, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)**.
• Participate in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Identify opportunities for energy efficiency and cost savings within electrical systems.
• *Safety & Compliance
• Ensure strict compliancewith company safety standards, electrical regulations, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Operate in accordance with SANS electrical standards and internal engineering policies.
• Identify potential risks and contribute to a safe working environment.
• *Collaboration & Support
• Work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance teams to resolve technical issues.
• Provide technical guidance and support to operators and technicians where required.
• Maintain effective communication with internal stakeholders to support operational targets
