Job Description
• **Must be able to work in a REFRIGERATED warehouse***

Green Top Farms was founded by a farmer-turned-public-school-teacher who was troubled by the lack of fresh, nutritious foods for many New York families. For the last ten years we have built a high volume food service, catering and delivery business. Throughout that time we have remained deeply involved in working to provide better food resources and education for school children, food pantries, and the broader community. We have also pursued our vision for a more sustainable and equitable food system. We spent the majority of our energies during the COVID Pandemic serving NYC City Agencies in the provision of food for the underserved, as well as non-profit agencies throughout NYC.

Our mission is to build a more sustainable and equitable food system, starting by reconnecting consumers and local farmers. We believe the results of strengthening that connection are better nutrition, more tasty food, greater social justice, and reduced environmental impacts. Our menus reflect this attention to bringing nutritious, delicious food to those who need it most.

What You’ll Do:

In this role, you’ll be responsible for packing ready-to-eat food items into organized delivery bins, preparing them for pickup by our drivers. You may be stationed in a refrigerated room handling cold items or on the hot side assisting with retherm, depending on business needs. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and takes pride in maintaining high standards of food safety, quality, and organization.
• Reading order sheets, picking and packing daily deliveries of food orders (inc. hotel pans, grab and go items, and food to be consumed) based on the order sheet
• Inspect orders to ensure accuracy and quality
• Rotating between the hot and cold kitchen, prescribing heating time, temperature, and location for retherm of all deliveries by using your knowledge of food safety and temperature degradation that occurs during delivery
• Work as a team with the pick & pack and dispatch team to ensure all orders are accurate and organized for delivery
• Organizing cooler and dry storage areas by the “First in First Out” principle
• Comply with all company policies, rules & regulations regarding safety, personal hygiene (GMP’s), operational methods, and food safety guidelines
• Ensuring quality is maintained during the pick and pack (hot food, cold food) process
• Strong communication skills with the team
