Job Description
We’re looking for a friendly, reliable Restaurant Server to join the team at the Renaissance Dallas North Hotel. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced dining environment and provides attentive, guest-focused service. They are organized, detail-oriented, and knowledgeable about menu items, ensuring orders are accurate and delivered promptly. This person should be a strong communicator who works well with both guests and team members to create a welcoming atmosphere and memorable dining experience. Flexibility, accountability, and a positive attitude are key to succeeding in this role.

REPORTS TO: Director of Food & Beverage/AGM

BASIC PURPOSE: Responsible for set-up, maintenance and service for all food and beverage orders within the restaurant while ensuring quality service, guest satisfaction and the achievement/maintenance of SUN standards and profit maximization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Greet Guests within 2 minutes of being seated and take all customer orders in accordance with operating policies and procedures

· Maintain high restaurant presence, ascertain orders and entertain/socialize with guests in a friendly, professional and courteous manner based on trained standards.

· Deliver all food items to table, on time and within specified guidelines.

· Set-up, cleaning, tear down and maintenance of restaurant main dining room area.

· Knowledge of all food and beverage products offered in the dining room and ability to take guests on a tour of all menus, describing in great detail flavors, textures and highlights.

· Complete all shift sidework as outlined in the hotel's operating policies and procedures.

· Respond to customer needs, issues, comments and problems to ensure a quality experience and enhance future sales. Report all communications to immediate shift supervisor.

· Perform all cash handling responsibilities in accordance with SUN policies and procedures.

· When needed, assist other departments and employees with any tasks requested by a supervisor or manager

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Education: High school education or equivalent

Experience: One year of employment in a related field with this company or other organization(s) preferred but not necessary.

Skills and Abilities:

· Must be able to clearly communicate with guests and coworkers

· Must be “hospitality” oriented, with a pleasant demeanor and exceptional guest service skills

· Ability to clearly understand and follow directions given by supervisors

· Ability to clearly understand and relay orders and special requests of guests

Physical Job Requirements

Lifting/Pushing/Pulling/Carrying:

Position requires daily and frequent lifting, pushing, pulling and carrying of a variety of items, including but not limited to queen marys, hot boxes, trays of orders, kegs and CO2 tanks, glass and dish racks, and bins of dirty dishes.

Bending/Kneeling

Position requires frequent bending and kneeling in order to complete tasks associated with the position. This includes but is not limited to retrieving equipment, removal of trays, and clean-up which may be needed

Mobility

Total mobility is required, with continue movement throughout the department required for an entire shift

Continuous Standing/Walking

Position requires continuous standing and/or walking to fill, check, and deliver orders, as well as to assist with all other kitchen functions as needed

Climbing Stairs:

Position may necessitate the use of stairs

Position will be primarily indoors in a hectic, fast-paced environment

· One-on-one communication with guests, supervisor and coworkers is critical

· Must be able to receive, understand and give direction in regard to kitchen operation or guest requests

· Must be able to clearly communicate in written and verbal form

· Must be able to visually identify menu items, table set-up, kitchen equipment, and safely maneuver through all department areas.

· Must have exceptional guest service skills, friendly, well-spoken and represent the property well

Chemicals/Agents

Position requires the use of general cleaning products, as well as abrasive cleaners, degreasers and sanitizers

Protective Clothing Type:

Non-slip shoes required at all times

Equipment Operation

Position requires the frequent use of basic kitchen tools and appliances such as, but not limited to;

toasters, ovens, microwave, hot box, sternos, freezers and refrigerators
