Job Description Summary :

The packaging operator is directly responsible for all packaging, loading, warehousing and bulk shipments of finished products in a safe and environmentally sensitive manner and in accordance with all applicable ESHQ standards. Employee is responsible for adhering and practicing the GMP and Food safety procedures and controls implemented within the boundaries of their job function at the Chester site.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Package finished products into bags or bulk containers using semi-automated packaging equipment.
• Transport and load finished products using an industrial lift truck.
• Spot railroad cars and locate them at appropriate position utilizing a mechanized rail car mover.
• Work at elevated levels to measuring Silos, fill railcars and bulk trucks and utilizing Fall Protection devices.
• Must be familiar with chemical processing equipment for potential transfer to Utility Technician to operate filter presses.
• Perform minor maintenance duties on packaging equipment.
• Brace and place tonnage for all railroad cars and trucks.
• Replace baghouse filters as required by Maintenance Schedule.
• Clean bag packaging and bulk loading equipment.
• Receive and stock shipping pallets and product bags.
• Inventory of packaging supplies and finished products.
• Daily housekeeping for Packaging Area.
• Operation of Ink Jet Printing System.
• Operation of Automated Palletizer and Stretch Wrapper.
• Perform other duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS:
• High School Diploma required.
• Satisfactory completion of all defined self-study and Process Specific training requirements for the Packaging Operator Classification.
• Satisfactory completion of On-the-Job Training requirements.
• Environmental, Health, Safety and Quality Systems training (ISO9000/14001), GMP and Responsible Care Training.
