Job Description
Overview

The Post Oak Hotel is seeking a Server to join the only Forbes Five-Star Hotel in Texas. We hire passionate and professional colleagues who genuinely delight our guests through curated and authentic experiences.
A Server’s primary responsibility is to ensure exceptional dining experiences for guests. A friendly and professional demeanor, attention to detail, and ability to multitask will contribute to the overall success of the establishment.

Responsibilities
β€’ Greet guests and welcome them in a friendly manner
β€’ Take drink orders and follow policy regarding service of alcohol
β€’ Know the menu and be able to explain menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods to guests
β€’ Coordinate with the kitchen staff to ensure all orders are prepared and delivered on time and together
β€’ Serve food and beverages promptly and efficiently, ensuring accuracy and good presentation, and timed so the entire table is served within a reasonable time frame
β€’ Check on guests during their meals to ensure satisfaction and address requests/concerns
β€’ Handle guest complaints or concerns professionally and bring issues to management
β€’ Collaborate with fellow servers, hosts, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service
β€’ Responsibilities include complying with all federal and state laws, including the FLSA tip regulations regarding tip reporting, sharing, and minimum wage requirements

Qualifications
β€’ One year of restaurant or customer service is preferred
β€’ Strong multitasking and time management abilities
β€’ Knowledge of food and beverage menus, including dietary restrictions and allergies
β€’ Basic math skills for handling payments and calculating tips
β€’ Flexibility to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
β€’ Physical stamina to stand, walk, and carry trays for extended periods
