Job Description
Security Guard Position

William Penn Charter School, an all-gender, pre-K-12, independent, Quaker day school seeks part-time and on-call security guards to provide coverage for guards who are absent due to vacation or illness and for special events held on campus. Security Guards at Penn Charter are responsible for ensuring the safety of students and staff, as well as the preservation of school property and assets. This work also includes timely and appropriate readiness of designated facilities for school functions.
Essential Functions
• Observe all safety regulations and policies.
• Conduct tours of all school facilities to insure that:
• All exterior doors and windows are secured.
• All designated interior doors are secured.
• All interior lights are out at the earliest possible times.
• Security alarms are armed and disarmed as required.
• Provide campus access to housekeeping staff or contractors.
• Maintain a detailed log with all observations and incidents clearly documented including the five W's: Who, What, Where, When, Why.
• Report all serious incidents to the Director of Security.
• Report any observed maintenance deficiencies to the Director of Facilities.
• Assisting event planners with unlocking and relocking requested doors and set-ups and take-downs.
• Assist Facilities staff with maintenance as requested.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to elements.
• Must be physically able to climb stairs and ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
Required Qualifications
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Valid Pa. driver's license.
• Capable of driving, entering and exiting vehicles owned by Penn Charter.
• Must have, or be willing to complete a Basic School Resource Officer Course within the time period allotted.
• On-the-job training offered.
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous security experience.
• Familiarity with Quaker Education and the Religious Society of Friends
• Related experience in working in a PK-12 school environment
