Job Description
Summary:
This is a position for and in an outpatient clinic serving mentally ill adults. This position is based in the North Hollywood, CA area (91601).

Schedule: Monday through Friday, typically 8:00am - 4:00pm. May be required to work flexible hours, irregular shifts, and at different locations.

Care and Supervision: Provide transportation for our mentally ill clients from their board and care residences to our outpatient clinic and back. Help implement and coordinate schedule of resident's/client's programs and services at the facility. Observe and interact with clients and respond helpfully to their problems and needs as well as provide emotional support.

Meetings: Participate in staff meetings and training activities, as required.

Other: Maintain client confidentiality, report any unusual situations or problems to supervisor without delay, perform other duties as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Inspect vehicles daily
• Check tire gauges
• check for cleanliness
• Check fuel level
• Check mileage sheets and maintain mileage logs (for completeness and accuracy)
• Maintain general maintenance of all ASC vehicles utilized by Valley Vista and North Hollywood and Sunland Manor staff.
• Participate in gathering ASC clients for transport to our day program, doctor's appointments and other appointment services.
• Assist clients to enter and exit the vehicle safely.
• Assess for client appropriateness to travel and engage staff to escort clients back into the facility when they are not appropriate for safe travel.
• Double-check that all clients are accounted for.
• Organize, plan and execute transport of clients to community outings.
• Assist with client lunch and cleanup daily at the day program.
• Including picking up food, preparing simple meals, and plating meals.
• Assist with running errands/courier activities between company sites, when needed.

Qualifications and Requirements:
• Minimum High School Diploma and two years of experience providing services to mentally ill or other disabled population desired.
• Valid California Class B driver's license (with Passenger Endorsement) and good driving history, as demonstrated by DMV record check.
• Current certification in CPR and first aid (we can assist with this if needed).
• Be in good health and be physically, mentally, and occupationally capable of performing duties, as verified by recent health screening and TB tests.
• Be of good character and able to pass a criminal background check.
• Personal characteristics of warmth, enthusiasm, sense of humor, responsibility, and respect for others.
• Current De-escalation Training certification, preferred but not required.
