Position Summary

The Traveling Commercial Journeyman Plumber is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing plumbing installations and repairs on new construction projects as well as remodeling of existing buildings. This role requires extensive experience with piping systems, drains, and fixture installations. The Journeyman Plumber works under administrative supervision from a designated trade manager but is expected to operate with a high degree of independence and expertise. In addition to performing technical work, this position ensures adherence to building codes and safety standards and may assist in guiding apprentices and less experienced team members. We do not anticipate the need for Technicians skilled with a stronger service background and will not entertain those resumes.

This job requires travel across the United States. Typical rotation is 17 days out in the field and 4 days at home.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties
• Diagnose plumbing issues and perform repairs on a variety of systems.
• Install, assemble, maintain, and repair pipes, fixtures, and water distribution systems.
• Locate and repair water line leaks, remove clogs, and snake drains.
• Install and repair appliances such as dishwashers, water heaters, toilets, and sinks.
• Test plumbing systems and fixtures to confirm functionality and compliance with codes.
• Interpret and work from technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Follow state and local plumbing laws, regulations, and building codes.
• Collaborate with foremen, project managers, and other trades to ensure project schedules and quality standards are met.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in safe, clean, and organized condition.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to support plumbing and construction projects.

• Expert knowledge of piping, drainage, and ventilation systems.

• Lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Work on ladders, scaffolding, or lifts in various weather conditions.
