Job Title: Driver (Class C)

Department: Donated Goods Retail (DGR)

Reports To: Director of Operations

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Schedule: Open

Position Summary:

A Driver will safely operate GWH and/or leased vehicles to distribute goods and equipment to multiple retail locations in the greater Houston area. Complete pick-ups and deliveries while assisting with loading and unloading responsibilities as assigned. Daily routes will be assigned to ensure the timely and efficient flow of goods.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Deliver and pick-up goods and equipment from GWH retail locations.
• Safely deliver truck loads within the assigned timeframe.
• Must safely secure and transport empty equipment to GWH locations.
• Always use safe driving practices.
• Complete daily inspection reports and report all defects to Dispatch and/or the Supervisor.
• Load and unload goods, equipment and/or salvage at GWH Stores, Outlets and ADCs.
• Complete daily routes as assigned.
• Maintain contact with Dispatch and the Supervisor for routing and instructions.
• Transport merchandise in a safe, efficient manner.
• Collaborate with the team members at the location to safely load and unload vehicles.
• Notify Supervisor and Dispatch of all unplanned stops or any action that would interfere with the assigned routes.
• Must be punctual and have dependable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Management.

Additional Responsibilities:
• Demonstrate professionalism and presents a friendly, cooperative attitude.
• Adheres to all GWH Policies & Procedures, Loss Prevention & Safety Regulations and GWH Guiding Principles.
• Must be able to work 10 to 14 hrs. per day, four (4) days a week with flexibility to wok a 5th day as needed.
• Ability to multi-task, make quick decisions and work in a team-oriented, fast-paced work environment.
• Must maintain an appropriate appearance and adhere to GWH's dress code.
• Must conduct work in a safe manner and report all accident and/or injuries immediately.
• Adheres to local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Free from drugs and alcohol.

Minimum Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must have a valid class C TX Driver's License.
• 1-2 years of driving experience is preferred.
• Ability to communicate, read and write in English.
• Good time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate and interact well with a variety of personality types.
• Must have reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

The ability to continuously stand/walk for duration of shift, frequently push/pull, occasionally bend/stoop/crawl/kneel/reach above shoulders and climb a ladder. Able to lift, up to, 40 lbs. (fixture parts, cartons of product) and occasionally move up to 100 lbs.

Must posses the ability to get in and out of and drive a heavy-duty truck. Must have the ability to sit for long periods of time.

Indoor work environment with exposure to outside temperatures. The noise level in the normal work environment is, usually, moderate.
