We’re a venture-backed defense aviation company building the fastest aircraft in the world through rapid, iterative prototyping. By prioritizing relentless hardware development, we deliver high-speed systems at the pace of the modern battlefield—supporting critical missions and maintaining a durable advantage for the US and its allies.

As we scale, we’re looking for a Senior Welding Engineer to support the development and manufacturing of next-generation aerospace vehicles. You’ll play a key role in standing up and optimizing welding processes, working at the intersection of design, manufacturing, and materials engineering.

What You’ll Do:
• Support development of weld shop capabilities for full-scale aerospace assemblies
• Develop, qualify, and optimize welding processes across multiple techniques (laser beam, GTAW, GMAW, resistance, plasma arc)
• Collaborate with design, tooling, and manufacturing teams to improve weld design for production
• Lead welding qualification testing campaigns and interpret mechanical and NDE results
• Drive root cause analysis across welding and materials challenges
• Implement process controls and continuous improvements using test data feedback loops
• Provide hands-on technical support to manufacturing engineers and welders in a fast-paced environment
• Evaluate and introduce new welding technologies to improve efficiency, quality, and throughput

You Should Have:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline
• Hands-on experience with fabrication, manufacturing, or testing of welded assemblies
• Strong understanding of welding processes and parameters across multiple techniques
• Experience working cross-functionally with design and manufacturing teams
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-performance engineering environment

Bonus:
• Master’s degree in welding engineering or related field
• Experience welding or working with stainless steel, titanium, nickel-based alloys, aluminum, or copper
• Knowledge of brazing, joining techniques, and metallurgical analysis
• Familiarity with weld testing standards (ASTM, ISO, AWS) and data acquisition systems
• Experience with tooling design to improve weld quality and reduce distortion
• Background in aerospace, defense, or high-performance hardware environments

Why Join Us:
• Competitive salary, bonus, and meaningful equity
• Opportunity to work on cutting-edge hypersonic and high-speed aircraft
• Fast-paced, hands-on engineering culture with real ownership
• Comprehensive benefits including fully paid healthcare and retirement plans
• Unlimited PTO and strong team culture with regular in-office perks
• Direct impact on mission-critical aerospace technology
