Are you ready to spark your career and build something great? Our Fabrication Department is looking for a Weld Tech I to bring precision, passion, and skill to our growing team.

What You’ll Do:
β€’ Perform entry-level welding, fabrication, and assembly work.
β€’ Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
β€’ Follow blueprints, work orders, and safety guidelines to deliver quality results.
β€’ Support the fabrication team with daily production goals.

General Description:

The Weld Tech I, is an entry-level fabrication position responsible for fitting and welding metal parts together according to provided drawings (schematic). They will work both independently and within a Team to accomplish given tasks and is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work area within a fast-paced work environment. Under general direction of the Fabrication Manager, position will work Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day with the occasional overtime and some weekend work.

Essential Functions:
β€’ Performs finish grinding of parts or welded assemblies using manual and power tools.
β€’ Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together.
β€’ Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding.
β€’ Repairs products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
β€’ Replace old or defective fabrication consumables with new ones (MIG gun, plasma torch, etc.).
β€’ Adapts to changes in the work environment; changes approach or method to best fit the situation; able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
β€’ Observes safety and security procedures; determines appropriate action beyond guidelines; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.
β€’ Responsible for requesting tools, supplies, and fixtures needed for the work they perform.
β€’ Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
β€’ Other duties as assigned by the FM.
β€’ May be required to work in other locations from time to time.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
β€’ Working knowledge of fixturing and weld setup parameters (volts, amps, etc.), for MIG (GMAW) on ferrous materials.
β€’ Knowledge of wire and filler material applications for carbon steel.
β€’ Proficient in the safe operation of a handheld plasma and oxy-acetylene torch.
β€’ Ability to Weld with base material:
β€’ Carbon Steel
β€’ T-Joints experience.
β€’ Butt Joints experience.
β€’ Corner Joints experience.
β€’ Ability to lift up to 50lbs.

Minimum Required Education, Credentials, Licenses and Experience:
β€’ Applicants must have completed a minimum level of education, including a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent credential.
β€’ Must be 18 years of age or older.
β€’ 1+ Year in a fabrication environment, required.
β€’ GMAW Certificate (1G – 4G), required.
β€’ Forklift certified, Preferred (Training on-site available).
β€’ As a condition of employment, candidates must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening, which will include a urine and hair follicle testing, consistent with applicable law.
β€’ Applicants are required to disclose any criminal convictions (misdemeanor or felony), through a pre-employment background review.

β€’ Welding Stick on carbon steel pipe.
β€’ Welding TIG on stainless steel pipe.
β€’ Ability to use manual and power tools and welding tools, levels, squares, tape measure.
β€’ Follow blueprints / schematics.
