The Ministry of Manpower reports the median basic wage for warehouse packers at SGD 2,450 per month as of 1 January 2026, with overtime paid at 1.5 times the hourly rate after 44 hours weekly. Employers must pay at least SGD 2,100 for entry-level roles under Progressive Wage Model requirements for logistics. CPF contributions start at 20% employee and 17% employer share on top of this amount.

Foreign workers for packing roles must hold a valid Work Permit issued by the Ministry of Manpower with a monthly levy of SGD 400 for basic skilled workers as of 2026. Applicants need a valid passport, medical check within 14 days of arrival, and employer sponsorship before entry. The permit duration is up to 24 months initially with renewal possible only if the worker is under 50 years old.

Packing positions require no formal education beyond Secondary 2 level and accept workers aged 16 and above per Ministry of Manpower guidelines effective 2026. Prior warehouse experience of at least 3 months is mandatory for foreign Work Permit holders to qualify for the lower levy tier of SGD 300 monthly. Local applicants face no experience threshold but must complete the 1-day Safety Orientation Course.

Applicants must submit NRIC or passport, recent passport-sized photo, educational certificates if any, and CPF statement for the past 12 months to the Ministry of Manpower-approved employer. Foreigners additionally require a signed Work Permit application form and IPA letter before arrival by 31 December 2026. All documents must be submitted within 7 working days of job offer acceptance.
