Job Description
Position Summary

The Dairy Packing Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining packaging lines for dairy products (cream, cheese). This is a full-time role working six days per week on rotating shifts. The operator ensures products are packed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with food safety and quality standards

Key Responsibilities

Operate Packaging Equipment:
β€’ Set up, start, operate, and shut down machines such as cappers, labelers, case packers, and palletizers.
β€’ Perform changeovers for product, size, or packaging material.
β€’ Monitor line performance, adjust settings, and troubleshoot minor faults.

Quality and Food Safety:
β€’ Conduct in-process quality checks (e.g., weights, seals, date/labels, package integrity).
β€’ Follow HACCP, GMP, and sanitation standards; prevent contamination and cross-allergens.
β€’ Accurately complete production and quality documentation; maintain traceability and batch records.

Sanitation and Cleanliness:
β€’ Perform routine cleaning and assist with CIP/COP procedures as required.
β€’ Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S/food safety standards.

Materials Handling:
β€’ Load/unload and replenish packaging materials (caps, film, labels, cartons).
β€’ Verify materials against specs and report defects or discrepancies.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
β€’ Conduct basic preventive maintenance and report equipment issues.
β€’ Collaborate with maintenance teams to minimize downtime and improve line reliability.

Safety and Compliance:
β€’ Adhere to site safety procedures and use required PPE.
β€’ Participate in safety talks, audits, and report near-misses/unsafe conditions.

Teamwork and Communication:
β€’ Coordinate with processing, quality, and warehouse teams.
β€’ Participate in shift handovers and communicate performance, issues, and actions.

Qualifications

Education:
β€’ High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training preferred.

Experience:
β€’ 1–3 years of experience in food or beverage packaging, preferably dairy, is an advantage.
β€’ Experience with automated packaging lines.

Skills:
β€’ Mechanical; able to adjust machinery and recognize faults.
β€’ Basic math and computer skills for data entry and machine interfaces.
β€’ Understanding of GMP, HACCP, and food safety standards.
β€’ Ability to read and follow SOPs, work instructions, and specifications.
β€’ English language: Moderate proficiency requiredβ€”able to read, write, and speak to follow procedures, complete documentation, and communicate with team members.

Physical Requirements:
