House Drivers

As per the Ministry of Labour, the minimum wage for drivers in Qatar is 1,000 QAR basic salary per month as of 2026, plus 300 QAR food allowance and 500 QAR accommodation allowance. Overtime after 8 hours daily must be paid at 1.25 times the basic hourly rate under the Wage Protection System. Employers deposit wages electronically by the 7th of each month.

As per the Ministry of Labour, foreign drivers require employer-sponsored work permits valid for up to 5 years, obtained through the Qatar ID system after medical and security clearance. The permit costs 200 QAR and must be renewed before expiry with a valid driving license from the home country converted via the Traffic Department. No self-sponsored visas are allowed for driver roles.

As per the Ministry of Labour, applicants need at least 2 years of professional driving experience and a valid Qatar driving license issued after passing the theory and practical test at the Traffic Department. A clean record with no more than 6 demerit points is mandatory for commercial vehicle categories.

As per the Ministry of Labour, applications require a valid passport, attested educational certificates, medical fitness report from an approved center, and a Qatar driving license application receipt. Employers submit the contract via the online MOL portal within 30 days of arrival.
