As per the Ministry of Labour, the minimum wage for Omani nationals in private sector roles including security guards is 325 OMR per month as of 2026 with overtime paid at 1.25 times the hourly rate after 8 hours daily. Expatriate security guards have no statutory minimum wage but contracts must specify at least 200 OMR monthly plus accommodation.

As per the Ministry of Labour, expatriates require a valid work visa sponsored by the employer and a labour clearance issued through the MOL portal before arrival with the permit valid for two years renewable. Security guards must also obtain a no-objection certificate from the Royal Oman Police and register their contract within 30 days of entry.
