As per the Public Authority for Manpower, the minimum wage for plumber roles in Kuwait is 90 KWD per month as of January 2026 for non-Kuwaiti workers in the private sector. Overtime must be paid at 1.25 times the hourly rate for hours exceeding 8 per day. Employers must deposit salaries into local bank accounts by the 7th of each month.

Foreign plumbers need a work permit issued by the Public Authority for Manpower valid for 1-3 years and an entry visa stamped within 60 days of arrival. Required documents include a valid passport, medical fitness certificate from an approved center, and a no-objection certificate from the sponsor. The employer must pay a 100 KWD permit fee.

Plumbers must hold at least a secondary school certificate plus 2 years of verified experience in plumbing systems as listed by the Public Authority for Manpower. A trade test certificate from an approved institute is mandatory for applicants from India, Philippines, and Egypt. Kuwaiti nationals receive priority under the 2026 nationalization quotas requiring 15% Kuwaiti hires in contracting firms.

Submit an online application through the Public Authority for Manpower portal with a passport copy, 4 photos, educational certificates attested by the Kuwait Embassy, and a signed employment contract. The process takes 15-30 days after the employer registers the job offer. A 25 KWD processing fee applies for the work authorization card.
