Job Description
• Blueprint Interpretation: Read, analyze, and execute work based on complex structural schematics, engineering drawings, and welding symbols.
• Equipment Setup: Calibrate and adjust welding machines, gas ratios, wire feed speeds, and current settings (Amperage/Voltage) for both TIG and MIG processes.
• Welding Execution: Join steel, stainless steel, and aluminum for hull structures, machinery foundations, tanks, and piping systems using all standard positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead).
• Quality & Inspection: Examine completed welds for cracks, porosity, and distortion. Perform grinding, wire-wheeling, and post-weld clean-up to ensure smooth finishes and structural integrity.
• Safety & Maintenance: Adhere to maritime safety protocols (OSHA/local equivalent), wear PPE, and maintain welding equipment.
