As per the Ministry of Labour & Employment, the minimum wage for plumbers as skilled workers is ₹900 per day in the central sphere as of 1 April 2026. Overtime must be paid at twice the ordinary rate after 8 hours of work. This rate applies to employment in central government undertakings and scheduled employments.

Apprenticeship completion under NAPS is also accepted for entry-level roles. No formal degree is mandated for domestic plumber positions.
