Job Title: Plumber

Qualification: ITI / Certification in Plumbing or relevant trade

Experience: 2–5 years (preferably in hospital or large facility maintenance)

Job Summary:

The Plumber is responsible for installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems across the hospital. This role ensures uninterrupted water supply, proper sanitation, and compliance with hygiene and safety standards critical to healthcare operations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Install, maintain, and repair pipelines, fixtures, and plumbing systems
- Ensure continuous supply of potable water to all hospital areas including ICU, OT, wards, and labs
- Maintain drainage, sewage, and waste disposal systems
- Inspect and repair leaks, blockages, and pipe damages promptly
- Maintain and service water tanks, pumps, valves, and fittings
- Monitor and maintain hot and cold water systems, including geysers/boilers
- Support maintenance of RO plants, water treatment systems, and softeners (if applicable)
- Ensure proper functioning of sanitary fixtures such as toilets, sinks, and wash areas
- Follow infection control and hygiene protocols while performing work
- Maintain daily logs of maintenance activities and report major issues
- Coordinate with facility and maintenance teams for preventive maintenance schedules
- Respond quickly to emergency plumbing issues to minimize disruption

Required Skills & Competencies:

- Solid knowledge of plumbing systems, fittings, and tools
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve plumbing issues efficiently
- Understanding of water supply, drainage, and sanitation systems
- Basic knowledge of safety and hygiene standards in hospitals
- Good physical stamina and ability to work in shifts
- Teamwork and communication skills
