Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Plumbing and Fire Protection Design Engineer role based in Sheikh Zayed City. The engineer will design plumbing and fire protection systems for building and infrastructure projects, including sizing and routing of piping networks, equipment selection, and preparation of detailed design drawings and specifications. Responsibilities include performing hydraulic calculations, reviewing codes and standards, coordinating with architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines, and integrating systems within overall project designs. The role involves preparing technical reports, design documentation, and bill of quantities, as well as supporting tender documents and responding to technical queries. The engineer will also participate in design reviews, support site teams during construction, and help ensure compliance with safety, quality, and local regulatory requirements. Qualifications - Strong technical skills in plumbing system design, including water supply, drainage, and sanitary systems. - Proficiency in pipe design, routing, and sizing, with understanding of materials, fittings, and installation constraints. - Experience with maintenance & repair considerations in design to support lifecycle performance and reliability. - Awareness of maintenance practices and coordination with facility teams to ensure serviceability of systems. - Customer service mindset, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, clients, and contractors. - Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or a related discipline. - Knowledge of relevant international and local codes and standards for plumbing and fire protection (e.g., NFPA, IPC, applicable local regulations). - Proficiency in design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar MEP tools) and strong MS Office skills. - Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and tender documents, with strong attention to detail. - Effective written and verbal communication skills in English; additional regional language skills are an advantage. - Prior experience in
