position summary

The Global Security Dispatcher plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of personnel, facilities, and assets. This position is responsible for receiving and dispatching emergency and non-emergency calls, monitoring security systems, coordinating responses to incidents, and acting as a liaison with internal teams and external emergency services. The ideal candidate is calm under pressure, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Rotational shift work (Days and Nights)

Pay Rate: $25.75/hour

Key Responsibilities:
• Receive, assess, and dispatch emergency and non-emergency calls in a timely and professional manner.
• Dispatch security personnel and guards to respond to alarms, incidents, and service requests.
• Monitor CCTV systems to detect, document, and report security incidents or suspicious activity.
• Conduct regular CCTV audits to ensure system functionality, compliance, and coverage.
• Monitor alarms and security events using the OnGuard system and initiate appropriate response protocols.
• Perform access control duties, including managing credentials, monitoring access points, and logging commercial vehicle entries.
• Maintain accurate logs, reports, and incident documentation in accordance with company policies.
• Liaise with external emergency services (police, fire, ambulance) during incidents and coordinate on-site response efforts.
• Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, including security supervisors, management, and operational teams.
• Follow established security procedures, escalation protocols, and confidentiality standards at all times.
• Other duties as assigned

• Control room / operations center environment
• Prolonged periods of monitoring screens and systems
• Shift work may be required

Qualifications & Skills
• Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence
• Valid First Aid and CPR Certification
• Shift work may be required
• Previous experience in security dispatch, monitoring, or control room operations preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to remain calm, professional, and decisive in emergency situations.
• Proficiency with security systems, including CCTV and alarm monitoring platforms (OnGuard experience an asset).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer skills and experience with logging and reporting systems.
