What were looking for in a Welder Fitter:

Duties:

To use TIG / MIG welding equipment to manufacture parts and assemblies.

Build welded assemblies for new products and changes to existing products as per engineering documents and established production standards.

Lay out, fit, and fabricate metal components to assemble structural forms, such as machinery frames, bridge parts, and pressure vessels, using knowledge of welding techniques, metallurgy, and engineering requirements. Includes experimental welders who analyze engineering drawings and specifications to plan welding operations where procedural information is unavailable. A welder fitter is a job that involves cutting, joining, and fabricating metal parts and components for various purposes, using different welding techniques and tools. The job requires following blueprints, specifications, and engineering requirements to ensure the quality and accuracy of the output. The job may also involve testing, repairing, and positioning the welded parts and assemblies.

Qualifications:
• Must have at least 5 years of Experience with both MIG and TIG Welding. Having Certification and Knowledge isn't sufficient.
• Familiar with a variety of welder concepts, practices, and procedures under CWB (Canadian Welding Bureau) or any international standards.
• Ability to understand welding symbols and diagrams, read blueprints, and/or other printed instructional material in the welding of products or parts.
• Must be thoroughly familiar with welding equipment such as torches, torch tips, filler rods, flux, hoses, valves, and gas cylinders.
• Demonstrate willingness to work with others in a team environment.
• Fork lifts Training Certificate an Asset

Abilities:

6) Information Ordering -- The ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures, mathematical operations).
7) Visualization -- The ability to imagine how something will look after it is moved around or when its parts are moved or rearranged.
8) Multilimb Coordination -- The ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting, standing, or lying down. It does not involve performing the activities while the whole body is in motion.
9) Mathematical Reasoning -- The ability to choose the right mathematical methods or formulas to solve a problem.

Working Conditions:

Working conditions are normal for a metal fabrication environment. Standing for long periods of time is required. Must be physically fit, work involves lifting.
