Job Description
Fabricator – Roles & Responsibilities

1. Reading & Understanding Drawings
• Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
• Understand dimensions, tolerances, and material requirements

2. Material Preparation
• Select correct materials (MS, GI, SS, plates, pipes, etc.)
• Marking, measuring, and cutting materials as per drawings

3. Fabrication Work
• Perform cutting, grinding, drilling, bending, and fitting
• Assemble components as per design
• Ensure proper alignment and dimensional accuracy

4. Welding & Joining
• Carry out welding (ARC, MIG, TIG as required)
• Ensure strong, clean, and defect-free joints
• Follow WPS (Welding Procedure Specification) if applicable

5. Use of Tools & Equipment
• Operate fabrication machines (cutting machine, drilling machine, rolling, etc.)
• Use hand tools and measuring instruments safely and accurately

6. Quality Control
• Check finished work against drawings and specifications
• Ensure proper finishing, dimensions, and fit-up
• Rectify defects if any

7. Installation Support (if required)
• Assist in site installation and erection work
• Ensure proper fixing and alignment on site

8. Safety Compliance
• Follow safety procedures and PPE requirements
• Maintain clean and safe working environment

9. Maintenance of Tools
• Maintain tools and equipment in good condition
• Report any faults or damages

10. Coordination
• Work with supervisors, engineers, and other team members
• Report progress and any issues during fabrication
