Job Description
Summary of Position:

The Security Guard role is to maintain a safe and secure environment for our yard facilities, personnel, and assets. The Security Guard is responsible for ensuring the security standards and protocols are followed. This position requires strong observation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to respond effectively to security incidents and emergencies.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Access Control:

· Control access to the yard facilities by verifying the identity of visitors, contractors, and employees.

· Issue visitor badges or temporary access permits as needed.

· Ensure that only authorized personnel are allowed entry into restricted areas.

· Ensure compliance with HSSEQ policies and procedures, and local regulations.

Emergency Response:

· Respond promptly to security incidents, emergencies, and alarms.

· Take appropriate action to address security breaches, disturbances, or medical emergencies.

· Notify emergency services and assist with evacuations if necessary.

Documentation and Reporting:

· Maintain accurate records of security-related activities, including incident reports, logbooks, and shift reports.

· Document any security breaches, incidents, or unusual occurrences.

· Ensure compliance with HSSEQ policies and procedures, and local regulations.

· Prepare written reports for management and law enforcement as required.

Patrol and Monitoring:

· Conduct regular patrols of the yard facilities to monitor for any signs of unauthorized access, vandalism, or theft.

· Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems to detect and respond to security threats in a timely manner.

· Report any suspicious activity or safety hazards to the Security Supervisor or appropriate authorities.

Experience & Education Requirements

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· Previous experience in security roles preferred.

· Security guard license or certification as required by local regulations.

· Strong observation and surveillance skills.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.

· Basic computer skills for logging and reporting incidents.
