Job Description
Job Title: SAW Welder

Reports to: Production Engineer

Job Objectives:

To be able execute high-quality Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) on heavy pressure vessels in compliance with approved WPS, drawings, and applicable codes such as ASME and ADNOC specifications, ensuring defect-free welds, optimal productivity, and adherence to safety and project timelines.

Responsibilities and duties:
• Perform SAW welding on longitudinal, circumferential . Nozzle seams as per WPS
• Set and control welding parameters (current, voltage, speed, wire & flux)
• Ensure weld quality meets ASME and ADNOC specifications
• Check joint fit-up, alignment, and cleanliness before welding
• Prevent defects and ensure welds pass RT/UT inspection
• Follow preheat and interpass temperature requirements
• Operate welding equipment safely and maintain housekeeping
• Meet productivity targets and report issues to supervisor

Qualifications:

Certified SAW welder with relevant code qualification and hands-on experience in heavy vessel fabrication. Proven ability in multi-pass welding on thick materials, Basic knowledge of preheat, interpass temperature, and weld defects, Experience working to ADNOC or similar oil & gas specifications

Years of Experience:

Minimum 5 years' experience in pressure vessel / heavy fabrication welding
