Job description

As a carpenter, you will be responsible for building, maintaining, and repairing various wooden structures and fixtures throughout our property. This role requires a high level of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members.
β€’ Perform preventive and corrective carpentry maintenance in guest rooms, public areas, and heart-of-the-house
β€’ Repair, fabricate, and install wooden furniture, doors, cabinets, wardrobes, shelving, and fixtures
β€’ Carry out polishing, finishing, and touch-up works to maintain the hotel’s aesthetic standards
β€’ Inspect carpentry works and report defects or safety concerns to the engineering supervisor
β€’ Follow Fairmont brand standards, SOPs, and maintenance schedules
β€’ Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and environmental policies
β€’ Use tools, machinery, and materials safely and responsibly
β€’ Coordinate with other engineering trades to support hotel operations
β€’ Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency situations

Qualifications
β€’ Minimum 2 years of experience as a carpenter, preferably in a luxury hotel or hospitality environment
β€’ Strong knowledge of carpentry and joinery techniques
β€’ Ability to read basic drawings and take accurate measurements
β€’ Familiarity with safety standards and use of personal protective equipment
β€’ High attention to detail and craftsmanship
