Job description

Our guests are always at home at Fairmont Hotels – and their in room dining experience is no exception. As an order taker providing warm service, efficiency and knowledge of our menu offerings, you will ensure the accuracy and timeliness of every memorable meal.

Key responsibilities
• Answer in-room dining calls promptly using proper telephone etiquette and brand standards.
• Accurately record guest orders in the POS system and ensure all details are correct (preferences, allergies, special requests).
• Provide detailed knowledge of menu items, ingredients, preparation methods, and promotions.
• Upsell menu items and promote daily specials when appropriate.
• Coordinate with the kitchen and service team to ensure timely preparation and delivery of orders.
• Confirm order details and estimated delivery times with guests.
• Handle guest inquiries, special requests, and complaints professionally.
• Ensure billing accuracy and proper posting of charges to guest accounts.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the order-taking area.
• Participate in shift briefings and training sessions.
• Ensure compliance with hygiene, safety, and hotel policies.

Qualifications
• High school diploma or hospitality training preferred.
• Previous experience in in-room dining, restaurant service, or call center environment is an advantage.
• Excellent telephone etiquette and communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of food and beverage service standards.
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
• Proficiency in POS systems and basic computer skills.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
