Job Description

PURPOSE OF POSITION

To provide an appropriate welcome at F&B Outlets for guests. To handle table reservations and effectively control the flow of guests.

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

β€’ Provide a warm and friendly welcome, leading guests and seating them at their table

β€’ Take telephone bookings and maintain a clear and organized reservations book

β€’ Assist in the set-up of tables and displays

β€’ Maintain and update guest database

β€’ To ensure full knowledge and understanding of LQA and Hotel Standards and to implement them in all interactions

β€’ Be attentive to guests and resolve their complaints where possible, reporting all incidents to Supervisor/Assistant Manager/Manager

β€’ To undertake service training lead by the outlet DT/ Supervisor/Assistant Manager/Manager to ensure full capability in understanding and executing service standards

β€’ To make/maintain all food/beverage labels for daily rotations of the buffet and working closely with the culinary team to update changes, including last minute requests, for the buffet

β€’ To ensure that all reports related to the outlet are well maintained and completed as per schedule and in a timely manner

β€’ To support the service team during times of need/crunch in service in the following areas, but not limited to: section holding, coffee station, back area and mis en place etc.

β€’ Maintain cleanliness of hostess station and surrounding areas, as well as of all menus

β€’ Maintain good working relationship with own colleagues, and all other departments

β€’ Correct preparation of all necessary operational material in the back office

β€’ Learn safety, sanitation and hygiene policies

β€’ Present check to guests and perform cashiering function if needed

β€’ Effectively control guest flow in the restaurant ensuring maximum turnover

β€’ Assist in carrying out quarterly, bi-yearly, yearly inventory of operating equipment

β€’ Train waitstaff and bus staff in hostess standards

β€’ Ensure the restaurant is ready to receive guests prior to opening and that both wait staff and tables are ready in line with opening standards

β€’ Carry out any other duties as and when assigned by the Management of the Hotel

β€’ Assist other Food & Beverage Outlets in their operations within peak times when needed

Qualifications

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

β€’ Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in English

β€’ Well-presented and professionally groomed at all times

β€’ Strong interpersonal skills and able to establish a good rapport with guests

β€’ Possess full knowledge of restaurant’s seating/table plan

β€’ Computer knowledge (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

β€’ Eagerness to learn and share knowledge with the Team

QUALIFICATIONS

β€’ Secondary education

EXPERIENCE

β€’ 1 year Hotel experience in F&B or other related industries with transferable skills

β€’ Previous public contact and/or cashiering experience
