Job Description
Job Purpose

Perform Electric, Gas and TIG welding tasks for Maintenance, Fabrication and Repair work on Static equipment.

Job Specific Accountabilities

Welding Operations
• Carry out a wide variety of Welding, Cutting and Brazing work as per technical specifications and safety standards and regulations.
• Perform hot work as per PTW requirements in compliance with the correct use of PPE for self and co-workers. Perform shop floor and field welding in a safe and effective manner.
• Perform routine maintenance on welding and cutting tools and equipment, to report any defects to the supervisor, carry out welding work required in the maintenance and repair of structures, tanks, furnaces, boilers, steel stacks, heat exchangers, air coolers, vessels, etc.
• Performs joint preparation for welding minor fabrications jobs, and assist fabricator to prepare weld map and welding summary sheet during execution of fabrication activities.
• Carry out highly skilled welding of all sorts of steel/alloy, non-ferrous, pipelines and structures for use in the plant utilizing different welding procedures like SMAW, TIG Welds, etc. to ensure the execution of welding works as required.
• Operate metal shaping machines such as brakes, shears and other metal straightening and bending machines.
• Reads and interpret blueprints or welding process specification in order to obtain necessary equipment, tools and materials.
• Participate in the assigned plant shutdown activities and ensure timely completion of job activities.
• Carry out visual inspection and exercise vigilance to identify any developing problem in the area assigned and report any problems to the supervisor. Assist in performing welding tests as required by the Inspection section.

Minimum Qualification

Secondary School Certificate with a vocational trade certificate in Welding

Minimum Experience, Knowledge & Skills

4 years of experience, in welding and repairing of static equipment within a large industrial plant, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry.
