As per the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, the minimum salary for carpenters holding skilled work permits in the UAE is AED 4,000 per month as of 1 January 2026, with overtime paid at 1.25 times the hourly rate after 8 hours daily. Q What visa and work permit requirements apply for foreign carpenters seeking jobs in the UAE in 2026?
Foreign carpenters must obtain a work permit and residence visa through the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation before starting employment, with the permit valid for 2 years and renewable. Carpenters need at least 2 years of verified experience in the trade plus a secondary school certificate or equivalent vocational training certificate recognized by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation as of 2026.
