Q What visa and work permit requirements apply for foreign carpenters seeking jobs in the UAE in 2026?
Foreign carpenters must obtain a work permit and residence visa through the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation before starting employment, with the permit valid for 2 years and renewable. Carpenters need at least 2 years of verified experience in the trade plus a secondary school certificate or equivalent vocational training certificate recognized by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation as of 2026.
