Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya, is a popular hill station accessible from Tufanganj via a 320 km drive. The route takes you through the plains of Assam before climbing into the Khasi Hills. You will travel via NH 27 and then take the turn towards Guwahati, eventually climbing the winding roads of NH 6. The journey takes approximately 8 hours. The final stretch from Guwahati to Shillong is particularly scenic with lush greenery and waterfalls.
