The journey from Siliguri to Kohima spans approximately 750 km. You must first take a train from New Jalpaiguri (NJP) to Dimapur, the gateway to Nagaland. From Dimapur, you will hire a shared taxi or bus for the 74 km uphill climb to Kohima. The route traverses the scenic plains of Assam before entering the Naga hills. Expect a total travel time of 18 to 22 hours depending on transit connections. The final stretch on NH 29 offers breathtaking views of the Dzukou Valley region.
