The journey from Shergaon to Tawang covers approximately 180 km through the rugged terrain of the Eastern Himalayas. You must travel via Rupa and Dirang, eventually crossing the formidable Sela Pass at an altitude of over 13,000 feet. The route follows the Dirang-Tawang road, which is maintained by the Border Roads Organization. Expect winding mountain roads with steep gradients and frequent fog. Private taxis are the only reliable mode of transport for this high-altitude transit.
