This is one of the longest rail journeys in India, covering over 2300 km from the historic Murshidabad to the southern tip of Thiruvananthapuram. You must travel to Kolkata (Howrah or Shalimar) to catch the Coromandel or other long-distance trains heading south. The journey takes approximately 40 to 48 hours. You will pass through Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu before entering Kerala.
