Tamluk, the headquarters of East Midnapore, is a town of great historical importance. The journey from Malda is long, covering over 400 km. The most practical route involves taking a train to Howrah or Santragachi, followed by a local train or bus to Tamluk. Road travel is possible but involves crossing the Kolkata metropolitan area, which can be time-consuming. The town is known for the Bargabhima Temple.
