The journey from Aritar to Lachung is a long, multi-stage trip covering about 160 kilometers. You must first travel to Gangtok and then proceed to North Sikkim. This route requires a mandatory Inner Line Permit (ILP) for all visitors. The drive takes approximately 8 to 9 hours due to the challenging terrain and permit checkpoints. Lachung is a high-altitude village famous for its proximity to Yumthang Valley.
