The journey from Anegundi to Hampi is a short 15 km trip across the Tungabhadra River. Most travelers prefer the local coracle or motorboat ferry service from the Anegundi ghat. Once across, you can hire a bicycle or moped to reach the main Hampi ruins. The route passes through lush paddy fields and boulder-strewn landscapes. It is the most scenic way to enter the UNESCO World Heritage site.
Total Distance: 15 km by road/ferry, 5 km air distance.
