Traveling from Amla to Gangtok is a significant journey of approximately 1800 kilometers. The most practical route is to take a train from Amla to New Jalpaiguri (NJP) in West Bengal. From NJP, you must hire a shared or private taxi for the 120-kilometer climb to Gangtok. The road journey from NJP to Gangtok takes about 4 to 5 hours through the scenic Teesta River valley. This route takes you from the central plains into the Eastern Himalayas.
